Linksys or LinkedIn-less?

A new Verizon DSL modem, new Airport Time Capsule router, new OS X server software and we're LinkedIn! Or should I say, new router—$499, 4 hours of tech support and a day of installing server software—$499, and being able to access LinkedIn—priceless? Not!

Ok, for the past 6 months, we have struggled to access LinkedIn here in the office. Spinning, waiting, and then finally timing out. While searching blog posts and googling for answers, we found out that we are not alone. Even talking to the peeps at LinkedIn, they too recognized the issue, but couldn't offer a solution. The best that we could gather was possibly due to an old Linksys router, an old Verizon modem, mix in a little PPPoE, add a little DHCP, a dash of VC config to BRIDGE and you've got a social media log jam. Which should be coined "a Link-In log."

Anyway, like with most computer issues... when in doubt, wipe it out. I'm pleased to say, after a clean install and over a $1,000 of Mac gear, we're LinkedIn. So do me a favor, check out my LinkedIn profile so I can feel that it's all worth it. But click here so I can track it with Google analytics. ;)

Side note: A couple of weeks ago, I read that LinkedIn, in their latest round of investment, had raised a total of $53 million. Previously they raised $27 million. With this round of funding, LinkedIn’s partners valued the company at over $1 billion. Seems a bit over valued to me, but with Facebook claiming a worth of $4-6 billion, who can say social media doesn't pay? If anyone from LinkedIn is reading this, can I get my money back?
